Duties

Successfully manage the Project workload assigned to the Major Projects workgroups. Manage staff workloads through data reporting to maximize project capacity. Manage customer/client relationship, Quality Control and Production. Perform office and field work as necessary during heavy workload cycles. Additional duties for this position will include providing workload balance, time schedule management and coordination of the efforts of designers to perform utility design projects for various clients in a timely manner. The duties of this position will be to work directly with our clients and design projects to their specifications. This position will be asked to fill in for the Practice Leader on occasion. This role also assists with invoice/timesheet approvals and necessary corrections.

Experience

The successful candidate’s experience will indicate a high level of comprehension in complex Electric distribution design in both overhead and underground configurations. Experience in managing high volume of asset type work including pole renewals, cable replacement, padmount transformer replacements and reclose replacements. As well as experience managing the design of large projects like DOT, capacity planning, Grid Solutions, lighting and reliability work
The successful candidate should have a minimum of ten (10) years' experience completing distribution design. Also, experience is required in working with local municipalities (City, County, State, & Railroad) for permit requests. Qualified candidates must have extensive knowledge & experience with the design of aerial and underground systems.

Skills

Capacity to identify overhead and underground electrical distribution system equipment and develop construction orders to relocate, expand and replace these facilities. Skills to work with clients and develop and maintain a relationship required. Additional skills to be demonstrated include organizational, financial, correspondence and client management. Knowledge of Maximo & BAUD is aa strongly desired attribute. Use of Microstation or other CADD platforms, familiarity with overhead utility pole construction and underground cable construction methods is also desirable in a candidate.
Excellent written and verbal skills, the ability to work well with others and work extended hours as necessary to meet the needs of our customers will be required for this position. Previous management of junior design staff to complete design projects on schedule and budget is a plus.
Additional skill sets required for this position will be working with roadway plans designed for City, County & DOT for roadway improvement projects. The ability to understand duct configurations and overhead design is mandatory. The ability to create RGB's (removal, proposed and adjusted) from greenline mark-ups is also a mandatory skill set required for this position. Also necessary, is the ability to mark-up plan pages, utility adjustment pages, cross section and drainage cross section views of existing, proposed, adjusted and remaining distribution utilities within the right-of-way of utility plans.

Degrees / Licenses (R)equired – (P)referred

High School Graduate required. Engineering or Technology degree is a plus.
Valid driver’s license, and a good driving record required is a must.
