The Nashville office of KCI Technologies, Inc. is looking for a highly talented, creative and motivated Traffic Engineer to join our traffic engineering/transportation planning group in our expanding office in Nashville. We work on a wide variety of exciting, high profile projects and are looking for talented staff to help the firm continue our leadership role in the traffic/transportation consulting field. In this role, the Traffic Engineer will be responsible for the preparation of a variety of traffic/transportation studies, including traffic signal timing and operations studies, traffic safety studies, roadway, intersection and roundabout studies, traffic impact studies, parking studies, traffic calming plans and other traffic engineering studies.

Experience

KCI is seeking a highly talented, creative and motivated person with 3 to 8 years of experience to join their traffic engineering/transportation planning group in Nashville. The position requires experience in traffic engineering and will involve working on a wide variety of transportation projects including roadway, intersection and roundabout studies, traffic signal timing and operations studies, traffic safety studies, traffic modeling, multimodal traffic impact studies, parking studies, traffic calming plans and other traffic engineering studies. Experience in traffic signal design, Complete Streets design, intersection design, and bikeway design is desirable.

Skills

Experience and competency in Synchro, HCS, MicroStation and/or AutoCAD, and familiarity with AASHTO, MUTCD and NACTO standards. VISSIM and SIDRA modeling experience is desirable. Good problem solving, communication, and technical writing skills are required.

Degrees / Licenses (R)equired – (P)referred

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering required, E.I.T. required, P.E. or ability to obtain P.E. within one year required.
