Candidate is required to perform reviews and assist in processing of Special Utility Permits. Work will include the use of electronic permitting systems, processing of incoming special utility permits, review of utility permit plans, calculation and verification of permit fees and bond amounts, coordination with permittees and utility companies, and issuance of permits.


Construction inspection experience in quality control or quality assurance for federal and/or municipal construction projects. Experience with sitework, site utilities, new and existing building construction, storm water management features, erosion and sediment controls, roofing, structural steel, cast in place concrete and asphalt pavement construction experience required. Experience with renovation of exterior and interior building features required, including roofing, stone veneers, window replacements, interior fit-out, fire protection and fire alarm modifications, among numerous other building features. Experience reviewing or coordinating building permits with County offices.


Ability to read plans and specifications and determine merit on issues. Ability to use a computer and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) needed. Ability to observe and report on quality of construction, construction techniques, standards, specifications, document and resolve field issues. Good organization skills, good writing and communication skills. Knowledge of County construction codes.

Degrees / Licenses (R)equired – (P)referred

AA Degree or Higher in construction technology, engineering or equivalent work experience. CQM certification required.
