Perform construction inspection and documentation services on large utility, paving, bridge rehab and drainage projects. Candidate must have the ability to sometimes work in adverse weather conditions. Candidate must be physically able to perform moderately strenuous tasks; which includes walking along rough terrain, climbing ladders and lifting up to 50 pounds. Candidate must be available to possibly work a varied work schedule. Position may require overnight travel. Position is subject to seasonal layoff.


3 or more year's experience working in Transportation Construction Inspection, Site inspection or Design. Previous experience on Pennsylvania Turnpike or PennDOT highway or bridge projects preferred.


Candidate must be able to read, write and communicate fluently. Candidate must possess basic math skills including geometry and trigonometry. Candidate must demonstrate the ability to understand construction plans, specifications and procedures. Candidate will be responsible for documentation of daily construction activities, which includes the measurement and calculation of pay quantities. Candidate should be proficient in recording all details of multiple construction operations and apply this information to a daily inspector report. Knowledge of bridge rehabilitation is a plus.

Degrees / Licenses (R)equired – (P)referred

Required: High school diploma (or equivalent) and valid driver’s license. Preferred: BSCE; ACI Technician Certification; PennDOT Concrete Technician Certification; NECEPT Field Technician Certification; Certified; NICET Certification in Heavy Highway Construction; and Troxler Nuclear Gauge Certification. A valid Driver's License and reliable transportation is required.
