Duties

KCI Technologies, Inc., a dynamic employee-owned engineering firm, currently has an opening for Senior Mechanical/Electrical inspector. Senior Inspector/Manager will function in an Agency role and be responsible for oversight of project schedule and budget as well as quality assurance of contractors work. CM will be required to prepare and analyze schedules, prepare cost estimates and negotiate change orders, maintain document control, solve construction problems in the field, and establish an effective working relationship with clients, contractors, and designers. Must be able to work flexible hours to reflect the contractor's changing work schedule.

Experience

10 or more years of professional experience in construction management and inspection of building and facilities. A record of increasing responsibility, progression in positions on projects. Experience with building demolition and vertical steel construction projects are preferred. Experience with project management software and scheduling software, such as Expedition/Contract Manager and E-builder.

Skills

Knowledge of the construction process, particularly in quality control, scheduling and Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing systems. Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications. Familiarity with CPM scheduling and standard scheduling software. Familiarity with establishing and maintaining document control on a construction project and use of document control software. Ability to use a computer and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong writing and speaking skills. Ability to work with and establish relationships with clients, contractors, and design engineers.

Degrees / Licenses (R)equired – (P)referred

Bachelor's degree for accredited university is preferred. Other preferred qualifications include EIT or CMIT, PE or CCM, and Construction Quality Management.
