Duties

The Alternate Quality Control Manager must implement the QC program in support of the QC Manager and in his/her absence.
This includes attending/facilitating/conducting /documenting all required QC meetings. Managing and coordinating the three phases of control and documentation performed by QC specialist and any other inspection and testing personnel required by the work. Submit documentation to support monthly invoices and Red Line/As Built Drawings. Other duties as required by the Quality Control Manager to promote compliance with the project Quality Control Plan

Experience

This is an Alternate Quality Control Manager position assigned to a complex building construction project. This position requires a minimum of 10 years' of full time experience as a superintendent, QC Manager, project manager, project engineer or construction manager on large complex building projects. Must have at least two years experience as a QC Manager. Must be familiar with the requirements of EM 385-1-1. . Must be familiar with USACOE Construction Quality Management practices. Requires frequent contact with engineers and agency personnel to discuss and resolve field construction issues and to obtain technical guidance in specialty areas of engineering and inspections. This position also require frequent external contact with contractor personnel to schedule and coordinate project inspection and resolve problems.

Skills

The Alternate Quality Control Manager must have the technical experience, education and training outlined elsewhere in this position description and be able to implement and manage the QC program in the absence of the QC Manager. This position will be expected to effectively use the USACE RMS system and communicate effectively with agency and contractor personnel.

Graduate of a 4 year accredited college or university in one of the following disciplines; Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Building Construction, or Building Science
