Target candidate will have the overall responsibility to include setting up, performing, completing and billing projects pertaining to Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE). Responsible for schedules, timeliness, financial performance, client invoices, deliverables and project related correspondence of assigned projects. Management of crew and staff schedules to complete projects on schedule. Develops and maintains relationships with existing and new clients, including Travel as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.


The target candidate will have at least 10 years’ SUE experience in State of Maryland or Mid-Atlantic Area or neighboring states in managing basic master contracts, including fee estimation, proposal development, client management, project set-up and execution of work. Must have an understanding of the Standard Guideline for the Collection and Depiction of Existing Subsurface Utility Data as outlined in the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) 38-02 along with experiences working on state contracts in the Mid-Atlantic area. Experience in managing SUE practitioners desired.


Good oral and written communication skills, supervisory and mentoring skills, reliable, attention to details and accuracy are necessary. Valid driver’s licenses to travel as needed to project sites, client meetings and growing the business.

Degrees / Licenses (R)equired – (P)referred

Professionally licensed in engineering, surveying or geology or a 4-year college degree plus 2 years’ experience in an engineering, surveying or construction field or 10 years’ experience in an engineering, surveying or Subsurface Utility Engineering related field.
