Duties

Assisting in the development of plans and coordination on multiple transportation projects. As a CADD Technician/ Project Coordinator, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining plan sheets for transportation projects as well as assisting with project coordination. Work could include working with multiple offices and personnel.

Project responsibilities include developing highway project plans from the concept phase through final construction plans, providing quality services, and ensuring client satisfaction.

Primary emphasis will be on transportation (highway/bridge) design projects, but may be involved in other projects.

Perform site surveys and job walkthroughs.

Adhere to KCI Technologies internal safety policies, as well as all other company procedures, initiatives, policies, and directives.

Attend required meetings with the client as well as other agencies / stakeholders that are impacted by a particular project.

Assist in obtaining various road and construction permits.

Assist with report preparation.

Check accuracy of completed work.

Experience

1-4 years CADD technician experience, preferably in the area of roadway design and plan preparation.

1-4 years coordination experience with multiple agencies / stakeholders preferred.

Direct experience working on South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) projects a plus.

Experience with report preparation a plus.

Skills

Experience with Microstation CADD software. Proficiency preferred.

Proficiency in MS Word and Excel required.

Must be able to multi-task, as well as shift responsibilities on the fly in order to accommodate system conditions or the current work load.

Must be able to work in team environment.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Must possess strong organizational skills.

The selected candidate must be extremely detail oriented.

The ability to read transportation plans and records preferred.

Degrees / Licenses (R)equired – (P)referred

Valid driver’s license.

Minimum of a two year degree from an accredited organization, preferably in an engineering, technological, GIS, or similarly related capacity.

Relevant work experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
