KCI is seeking an entry to mid-level engineer to work on a variety of projects within our Asset Management Practice. Project examples include strategic asset management planning, condition/performance assessment and quantification, renewal planning, long-term financial forecasting. Candidates should have strong technical writing skills and a general understanding of asset management concepts including asset inventory, risk assessment, lifecycle costing, lifecycle management/industry standard O&M practices, and capital planning. Candidates should also be able to learn relevant software and integrate it into asset management plans and business processes.

A successful candidate is able to contribute to our growing team of energetic asset management professionals by leveraging knowledge of civil infrastructure (e.g. water infrastructure, transportation, public utilities and/or power) to develop and execute asset management plans for clients.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
• Collaborating with a team of engineers, business analysts, and GIS analysts to develop asset management plans that integrate people, processes and technology
• Supporting a project manager with the execution of asset management oriented tasks;
• documenting and tracking outcomes from meetings/workshops;
• writing asset management plans, technical memos, planning documents;
• delivering presentations to clients;
• reviewing and supporting the work of others;
• performing other duties as assigned


Must have a minimum of 5 years working either in a consulting firm or directly for a public infrastructure department or equivalent agency, or both. In addition, must have at least 1 year of experience in the asset management or civil infrastructure sectors. An understanding of work order management systems, CMMS, GIS and enterprise technology preferred. Familiarity with EPA Asset Management Best Practices preferred.


Working knowledge of asset management principles; workflow development; ability to recommend efficiencies by analyzing current practices; strong technical writing; proficient oral communication to convey technical information to clients, staff and supervisors in a professional manner; project management; meeting/workshop facilitation.

• B.S. Degree in Engineering or equivalent
• M.S. Degree in Engineering, MBA, or MPA
• Professional Engineer license
• PMP desirable
