DutiesWork includes preventative maintenance activities and the test, balance, commissioning of air handling equipment and machinery. Work included contractor oversight and inspection. General supervision is provided by the mechanical engineer.
ExperienceThis is skilled active work in the commissioning, testing, and balancing of heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment, controls, auxiliary systems at an advanced level. 10 years experience
SkillsConsiderable knowledge of the operation, maintenance and repair of residential heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment, controls and auxiliary systems to include central distribution of steam, hot water and cooling water.
Working knowledge of digital controls and monitoring systems as applied to HVAC.
Working knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions in work with HVAC systems.
Working knowledge of HVAC tools and practices
Degrees / Licenses (R)equired – (P)referredCFC Universal Refrigeration Certification.
Two year technical school and/or Virginia Journeyman / Master HVAC preferred.
Possession and retention of a valid journeyman tradesman and Virginia driver’s license.
Successful candidates must have and maintain a driving record acceptable to KCI and its insurance carriers.
OtherWork will be performed at the Virginia State University Campus facilities. .
Salary commensurate with experience and knowledge
