KCI Technologies, Inc., a dynamic employee-owned engineering firm, currently has an opening for mid-level Construction Project Manager in the Richmond, VA area. CMs will function in an Agency role and be responsible for oversight of project schedule and budget as well as quality assurance of contractors work. CM will be required to prepare and analyze schedules, prepare cost estimates and negotiate change orders, maintain document control, solve construction problems in the field, and establish an effective working relationship with clients, contractors, and designers.


Less than 10 years of experience in facilities construction and project management and inspection of buildings and civil projects. A record of increasing responsibility, progression in positions on projects. Experience as either a consultant inspector, materials testing technician or contractor project engineer is acceptable. Experience with project management software and scheduling software, such as Expedition/Contract Manager, P3/Suretrack, or comparable systems is desired. Project type of experience that is relevant includes water/wastewater construction, construction and building construction for federal, state or municipal agencies.


Knowledge of the construction process, particularly in quality control, scheduling and estimating. Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications. Familiarity with CPM scheduling and standard scheduling software. Familiarity with cost estimating and standard estimating software. Familiarity with establishing and maintaining document control on a construction project and use of document control software. Ability to use a computer and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong writing and speaking skills. Ability to work with and establish relationships with clients, contractors, and design engineers. VA CPSM knowledge a plus

Degrees / Licenses (R)equired – (P)referred

Bachelors degree in Architecture or Engineering degree from an accredited university is required. Other preferred qualifications include EIT or licensed PE, CCM or CMIT, material testing certifications, Construction Quality Management.
