Duties

Responsible for project management, client interaction, and technical and price proposal preparation within the geotechnical Practice. Provide technical expertise and mentoring for junior pavement/geotechnical engineers and technicians. Manage projects, develop scopes and budgets, perform pavement engineering and asset management, geotechnical exploration, evaluate data, and prepare technical reports for a wide variety of high profile projects. Responsible for assisting geotechnical engineering practice leader in project budgets and technical deliverables, quality control/quality assurance, technical and price proposals, communication and interaction with external and internal clients. Other duties will include marketing, business development and expansion of the geotechnical and pavement engineering in the Delmarva market.

Experience

Must have minimum 15 years of experience and substantial involvement in a variety of geotechnical, pavement, and materials engineering fields and pavement management as part of major transportation, environmental, sanitary, landfill and solid waste management, site development, general civil engineering, and construction projects. Strong evidence of marketing and business development experience required.

Skills

Working knowledge of geotechnical and pavement software such as LPILE, SLIDE, gINT, DRIVEN, PLAXIS, SHAKE PCASE, and AASHTO MEPDG, DarWin, MicroPaver, Tag II. Finite element modeling of pavement systems. Specialized experience in a variety of geotechnical engineering applications. Hands-on experience in geotechnical instrumentation and in-situ testing such as Falling Weight Deflectometer (FWD), Geographic Information System and GPR data interpretation with the ability to solve complex problems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong work ethics, and a team player. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. Proven skills in proposal writing is required.

B.S., Civil Engineering and M.S., Geotechnical Engineering/Pavement Engineering (Required). Professional Engineering (PE) Certification required.
