Duties

Dispatch staff will utilize existing GDOT navigator software and WebEOC software to log incidents in accordance with established TMC procedures. Dispatch staff will also be responsible for logging of all incidents/events/actions taken by the operator while on duty. Additional roles of the Dispatch Staff will include serving as the primary interface between RAM Operators and Incident Management responders, addressing maintenance issues on RAM corridors and form relationships between GDOT TMC staff, GDOT Maintenance staff and local agencies responsible for emergency response. Work in the District Office in the maintenance of project records, assist in the tracking of inspection data, and other duties as assigned. Good communication skills, knowledge of computer software, knowledge of GDOT software, knowledge of the MUTCD, multi-tasking skills, self-motivated. Dispatch staff will cover all agreed upon shifts for each district (up to 2 per district). Dispatch staff is expected to be physically located at each GDOT district and will be present in coordination with operator shifts. This position is subject to work nights, week days, weekends and holidays.

Experience

High School graduate or equivalent plus secretarial and/or clerical experience. Emergency/Incident response experience preferred.

Skills

Ability to serve as communication/liaison point of contact between GDOT TMC, GDOT districts, RAM management and Operators and provide communication between district maintenance forces, 511 operators and RAM operators to incidents on roadway as needed. Experience in the use of standard word processing software; should exercise independent initiative to help relieve the maintenance personnel of clerical duties as directed.
