Duties
KCI Technologies is currently seeking a Mechanical Sr. Project Engineer. One can expect to be fully responsible for the planning and execution of all phases of work assignment. The right candidate will have extensive academic knowledge and professional experience in field of Electrical Engineering. Individual will plan and develop engineering projects concerned with unique or controversial problems. This involves the exploration of the subject area, definition of scope of and selection of problems for investigation, and development of novel concepts and approaches. Maintains liaison with individuals within or outside of our organization with responsibility for acting independently on technical matters pertaining to the field. Supervision received is essentially administrative with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits. As a staff specialist in the field of Electrical Engineering serves as a specialist for the organization in the application of advanced theories, concepts, principles, and processes. Keeps abreast of new scientific methods and developments affecting KCI for the purpose of recommending changes in emphasis of programs and new programs warranted by such developments. May assist in the development of engineering proposals, negations, and presentations. While working directly with internal and external resources and clientele, this position will be involved with the following building technologies: HVAC, Utility Piping, Plumbing, Fire Protection systems and other specialized building components.

Experience
10-15 years of working experience in a consulting engineering environment. Experience in the Evaluation/Design of Mechanical Systems or Performing Building Code Consultation. Experience in Developing Contract Documents for Facility related Mechanical systems. Expert knowledge of National Building, Fire, Electrical Codes and Construction Standards. Knowledge of National Fire Association (NFPA) Standards, including Life Safety Code requirements for both new construction and modifications to existing buildings.

Skills
Demonstrates engineering/technical competency, mature human relation skills, teamwork attitude, and business management knowledge. Requires extensive progressive experience in Mechanical Engineering. Ability to interpret engineering plans and maps. Ability to perform engineering calculations. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.

Degrees / Licenses
(R)equired – (P)referred
Must have a BS Degree in Architectural Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited engineering institution required, Professional Engineering License required, Masters Degree preferred.

US Citizenship required, Computer Literate required, Excellent verbal and written skills required, Valid Drivers License required, DoD Top Secret Clearance (TS/SCI) or the ability to obtain required.
