DutiesProvide highway engineering design for roadway improvement projects for local state and federal DOT agencies. Work with 3D survey files to set alignments, super elevation, cut cross section, set proposed typical and work with other design disciplines to prepare a set pf plans specification and cost estimates for the project. |

Experience5 to 10 years experience in transportation engineering on major highway improvement projects for State or Federal DOT Agencies. Design knowledge in Geopak for highway engineering principles based upon AASHTO in the design of interstate widening and interchange improvements, realignment and widening of arterial, collector and local roadways and preparation of contract documents in accordance with client CADD standards. Design and planning experience in transit facilities, local and county site projects or federal agencies is also desired. |

SkillsKnowledge in Microstation and Geopak or other geometric design software to prepare alignments to meet AASHTO criteria; development of cross sections, earthwork and grading plans for cost estimates; ability to coordinate with other disciplines for the development of plans. Good communication skills, understanding of construction requirements and permitting process. |
